New facility and resources to fuel solution innovation for commercial and public sector customers

FAIRFAX, Va. – April 3, 2019 –ECS, a recognized leader in cybersecurity, cloud managed services, agile development, digital transformation, and advanced engineering, is pleased to announce the grand opening of its Cybersecurity Innovation and Technology Operations Center (CITOC). Located in northern Virginia, it serves as the primary facility for the company’s security operations center (SOC), cyber range, and labs.

The ECS SOC delivers tailored cybersecurity services including monitoring, detection, and incident response using state-of-the-art technologies from select partners such as McAfee, Elastic, ThreatQuotient, and Swimlane for network, endpoint, and cloud security. Led by Andy Woods, executive director for cyber managed services, ECS’ SOC serves U.S. public sector and Fortune 500 customers spanning banking, hospitality, retail, and manufacturing verticals on a 24/7/365 basis.

The ECS cyber range and labs have been established to support the rapid test and evaluation of new and novel technologies, architectures, and platforms that are intended to solve specific customer challenges and use cases. The cyber range is immersive and provides the capability for replicating customer environments and applications, hosting training events, and performing cyber exercises. Developed and managed by Michael Zakrzewski, director of cyber technologies, these environments provide engineers with on-demand access to cloud resources such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and IBM Cloud, for conducting research and vetting solutions.

Given the vast number of emerging products and the pace of innovation in the marketspace, ECS labs’ robust sandbox capabilities enable accurate and independent assessment of vendor capabilities. It has already created value for customers in trade studies, analysis of alternatives, and delivering performance testing results.

“A major part of the culture at ECS is an expectation to continuously look beyond the horizon and understand what’s next in technologies and solutions that will benefit our customer and make us that much more competitive,” said George Wilson, president of ECS. “We made the investment in the CITOC so that our developers and engineers had physical and virtual workspaces to share solutions, foster communities of interest, and facilitate research, development, testing, and operations of cutting-edge tools in cyber, digital, and cloud.”
