CTO, Cloud Computing & VP, Emerging Technologies


Dr. Imran Bashir is chief technical officer (CTO) of cloud computing and vice president of emerging technologies at ECS. Dr. Bashir leads the ECS Cloud Center of Excellence and has established the company’s cloud computing technology practice with a focus on cloud economics, architecture, governance, data analytics, AI/ML, managed services, and application migration for leading cloud service providers (CSPs) including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.

Previously, Dr. Bashir served as CTO of cloud computing at InfoReliance Corporation. There, he led multiple cloud contracts for federal, state, and commercial customers. He led the development for CSP selection criteria, cloud roadmap, cloud governance, standards, and best practices. He also aided customers in evaluating cloud technologies, tools, and engineering practices to fulfill customers’ mission and objectives. His diverse background includes object-oriented design, web-based technologies, various hardware platforms and software tools, software engineering processes and methods, software quality assurance and quality control, and telecommunication systems and networks. As a research leader at Battelle Memorial Institute, he developed business strategies for big data and managed programs in metrics, research, and software development. He has also held technology leadership positions at Qwest Communications, LCI, and EGS.

Dr. Bashir has a doctorate in software engineering and a master’s degree in computer engineering from Syracuse University. His bachelor’s in electrical engineering (electronics) is from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore.
